Emergency crews battle fire and evacuate patients from Pennsylvania hospital

Officials say emergency crews are battling a blaze and evacuating patients from a hospital in Pennsylvania as fire engulfs part of the facility. Gov. Josh Shapiro said on the social platform X that the state’s police, emergency management agency and health department were helping to evacuate patients and secure the area at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Dickson City on Wednesday night. In video and photos posted online, flames can be seen shooting out from the top of what appears to be the hospital’s Orthopedic Institute. Dickson City is about 6 miles north of Scranton.
