From Alleged Lurking Stranger to Possible Abduction: New Lead in Nancy Guthrie Case
On February 4, 2026, TMZ reported that the police are looking into any possible links between Nancy Guthrie's apparent abduction and a previous trespassing incident in the neighborhood. According to the outlet, the Pima County Sheriff's Department (PCSD) told them that they are investigating an incident involving an elderly man who reported seeing a trespasser at his Tucson home. The incident happened less than 10 minutes away from where Savannah Guthrie's mom appeared to be abducted.
The trespasser case was forwarded to the PCSD unit investigating Nancy's case as a possible lead. TMZ spoke to the owner of the home where the alleged trespassing took place. He told the outlet that the person fled the scene when a motion sensor triggered a floodlight. He also noted that nothing was stolen from his yard and there was no break-in attempt that night.
The Pima County Sheriff Department did not immediately respond to Men’s Journal’s request for comment.
