Sanchez Receives Second SEC Co-Diver of the Week Nod

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Following a record-breaking performance against North Texas this past weekend, Majo Sanchez has been named SEC Co-Diver of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday.

The Razorbacks cruised to a 221-129 victory over North Texas, with Majo leading the charge. Sanchez competed in all three events over the weekend, placing first in the 1-meter and 10-meter platform. She placed second in the 3-meter, right behind fellow Razorback Lotti Hubert.

Majo set the new 10-meter platform pool record in the HPER Natatorium, shattering the previous record of 297.98 with her astonishing score of 341.30.

This week marks the second time this season that the sophomore has received SEC nods. Majo won SEC Co-Diver of the Week back in week six (Nov. 11), as Sanchez led the Hogs to a victory over SMU, sweeping both the 1 and 3-meter events.

Sanchez is the first Razorback diver to win multiple weekly SEC honors in the same season since Brooke Schultz in the 2018-19 season.

The Arkansas swimming and diving program will return to action for SEC Championship competition beginning on Feb. 17, in Knoxville, Tenn.
