Man, 71, wounded in Oakland drive-by shooting
OAKLAND — A 71-year-old man was wounded multiple times in a drive-by shooting Wednesday night in East Oakland, authorities said.
The man’s condition was not available Thursday.
The shooting happened about 10 p.m. Wednesday in the 10200 block of International Boulevard.
The man was able to tell police he was walking on the sidewalk when a dark colored vehicle going eastbound pulled alongside him and an occupant began shooting at him. He was hit at least twice in both legs,
The vehicle then continued driving eastbound on International Boulevard. The wounded man was taken to a hospital.
A motive for the shooting is under investigation. Detailed descriptions of the shooter and the vehicle have not been released.
