'My Mum Wore A White Lace Dress': 5 Wild Mother In Law Wedding Disaster Stories
Chances are you’ve already heard about Brooklyn Peltz Beckham’s Instagram stories, which detail his side of the apparent Beckham family feud.
These came following a reported fall-out with his family last year, and claims from both sides of the split that they’d blocked one another on social media without warning.
Brooklyn claimed in the stories that his mother, Victoria Beckham, sabotaged and/or misbehaved during multiple parts of his wedding to Nicola Peltz Beckham.
“My mum cancelled making Nicola’s dress in the eleventh hour despite how excited she was to wear her design, forcing her to urgently find a new dress,” he wrote.
“During the wedding planning, my mum went so far as to call me ‘evil’ because Nicola and I chose to include my Nanny Sandra, and Nicola’s Nanni at our table,” he continued, adding, “My mum hijacked my first dance with my wife, which had been planned weeks in advance to a romantic love song.”
We don’t yet know whether claims of the “inappropriate” move are true.
But seeing as the rift has brought discussions of troublesome mother-in-law behaviour to the fore, we thought we’d share some wedding stories posted to Reddit’s r/motherinlawsfromhell.

“She also wanted her own song for when she was escorted down the aisle. Then she was upset that I didn’t choose the cake flavour that she had wanted.
“My MIL refused to smile in any of the pics. When we announced our engagement, my MIL got very upset because we didn’t discuss it with her first.
“She also made an appointment for us with a therapist for pre-marital counselling (without our permission). The therapist was also a friend of MIL. We went to the counselling session, and the therapist asked why we decided to come for counselling.
“I straight up told him that MIL was hoping that he would tell us we were making a mistake and we shouldn’t get married. He laughed and said he thought I was right.”
