New Dartford crematorium proposed in Darenth and extension of Traveller site in Southfleet

Plans for a new crematorium are among the latest planning applications submitted to Dartford council.

A request has been submitted for an environmental impact assessment screening opinion for the facility plus burial grounds and associated infrastructure at the former Mabledon Hospital site in Green Street Green Road, Darenth.

The council is being asked to determine whether the scale of the development would require a full environmental assessment before any formal application is made.

Plans have also been submitted to extend an existing Gypsy and Traveller site at 48 Brakefield Road in Southfleet.

The proposal seeks permission for the stationing of one additional mobile home on the land, alongside the erection of an extra dayroom building to support the site’s use.

The application includes a change of use of the land in order to formally extend the boundaries of the existing Gypsy and Traveller site.

In Greenhithe, a change of use application has been submitted to turn a home at 1 The Orchard in Mounts Road into a HMO for up to 10 people.

- Erection of a single storey rear extension at 74 Milestone Road in Dartford.

- Display of replacement advertising including window vinyl graphics and wall-mounted lettering at 22A Market Street in Dartford.

- Conversion of a garage to a habitable room with alterations to the front elevation at 25 Beacon Drive in Bean.

- Display of a front-facing LED screen inside the shop window at 10 Birchwood Parade in Woodside Drive, Wilmington.

- Change of use of land and buildings at Sondix House, Sandpit Road, Dartford, from storage use to flexible industrial and commercial use including a coach, bus and minibus depot, electric vehicle conversion operations and servicing.

- Demolition of an existing conservatory and erection of a single storey rear extension with roof modifications at 33 Main Road in Sutton at Hone.
