Maharashtra politics: BJP expands footprint as rivals shrink

The BJP has expanded its political presence in Maharashtra. This follows a strong performance in the November 2024 assembly elections. The party also achieved stellar results in recent civic polls across 29 municipal corporations. The BJP-led Mahayuti alliance is set to govern 25 of these corporations. Other parties have seen their political bases shrink significantly.
