Inside the Special Night for Carol Burnett at the 'Palm Royale' Season 2 FYC Event

Palm Royale stars Kristen Wiig, Ricky Martin, Josh Lucas, Leslie Bibb, and Amber Chardae Robinson are honoring their fellow cast member and legendary comedian Carol Burnett.

The Apple TV+ series just aired its season 2 finale earlier this week and the cast, along with some special guests, attended an event held The Wolf Theater at the Television Academy on Thursday (January 15) in North Hollywood, Calif.

Guests included Bernadette Peters, Bob Odenkirk, Charlize Theron, Yvette Nicole Brown, and even a special screen appearance by Michelle Obama.

Another popular Apple TV+ show, Pluribus, was also represented by creator Vince Gilligan and star Rhea Seehorn.

The stars attended a panel discussion at the Saban Media Center that turned into a full-blown tribute to the groundbreaking star of The Carol Burnett Show.

Carol, 92, said on the panel that it meant “the world” to play Norma on Palm Royale, per Gold Derby.

She said when series showrunner and executive producer Abe Sylvia contacted her about it, she was sold right away.

“I said, ‘Who’s in it?’ He said, ‘Kristen Wiig, Allison Janney, Leslie Bibb, Laura Dern.’ I said, ‘Stop. I’m in. I don’t care what you want me to do. I want to lock eyeballs with all of these people,’” she shared. “He said, ‘The first few episodes you’re going to be in a coma.’ I said, ‘That’s even better.’”

At the end of the panel, Bernadette joined to sing the closing theme song of The Carol Burnett Show.
