'Paranormal Activity 8' Gets a 2027 Release Date

A new Paranormal Activity is coming in 2027!

The long-running found-footage horror franchise will return with its eighth film next year from filmmaker Ian Tuason. Plot details are currently under wraps, but Deadline reports that Blumhouse-Atomic Monster will co-finance.

Blumhouse-Atomic Monster execs James Wan and Jason Blum are on board as producers, as well as the franchise’s original creator Oren Peli for Solana Films.

The first Paranormal Activity film, written and directed by Oren, was made for $15,000 and a post-production amount of $200,000. It went on to make $194 million worldwide and spawned a beloved franchise.

It’s massive financial success also helped to alter the way found-footage and even some horror movies were made moving forward.

The last entry in the film series was Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin directed by Christopher Landon (Happy Death Day). It came out in 2021 and was released as a Paramount+ exclusive.

Last year, Paranormal Activity took to the stage in a play featuring an original new story.

The eighth film will come out on May 21, 2027.
