Welcome to the Bay Area News Group (Mercury News & East Bay Times) girls Athlete of the Week poll.
For the entire academic year, we will provide a list of candidates who stood out over the previous week and allow you, the reader, to vote for the winner.
This week, we consider performances from Dec. 29-Jan. 3.
Polls close at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
Vote as many times as you’d like until then without using bots or any other artificial methods of voting.
Votes by email and after 5 p.m. Wednesday are not counted.

Winners are announced each Friday online and in the print edition of the Mercury News and East Bay Times sports sections.
Candidates for future Athlete of the Week polls can be nominated at highschools@bayareanewsgroup.com.
We accept nominations until 11 a.m. each Monday.
We also review stats submitted to MaxPreps by coaches/team statisticians.

On to the nominees:
Sophie Diaz, Willow Glen basketball: The junior scored 21 points and added six rebounds and an assist as Willow Glen beat Evergreen Valley 44-34.
Saanvi Gunukula, Leland basketball: The senior led Leland with 19 points and added two rebounds, two steals, an assist and a block as the Chargers beat Santa Teresa 64-30. She went 4 for 9 from 3.
Teagan Kaefer, Los Gatos soccer: The junior midfielder found her way onto the scoreboard in a tight contest as Los Gatos beat Los Altos 2-1.
Taylor Ochoa, College Park basketball: The senior scored 17 points and added 13 rebounds, five steals and three assists as College Park beat Sacramento 48-34.
Kaylee Ouyang, Homestead soccer: The sophomore scored two goals and added an assist as Homestead routed Fremont-Sunnyvale 9-0.
Keira Tom, Dougherty Valley basketball: The senior posted 19 points in a win over Weston Ranch and added 20 more in a close 56-51 victory over Moreau Catholic. She added nine rebounds, two assists and seven steals across the pair of contests.
Keatyn Spendlove, Saratoga soccer: The senior scored two goals and added an assist as the Falcons beat Lynbrook 8-1.
Andri Wilkinson, Pinewood basketball: The senior scored 24 points and added 10 rebounds and a pair of steals as Pinewood beat Lincoln-Stockton 74-52.
Lily Wilright, Heritage basketball: The senior was named the Most Valuable Player of the West Coast Jamboree Ruby Division after leading the Patriots to a 3-0 mark in the tournament and the Ruby Division title. Wilright compiled 28 points, 37 rebounds and nine steals in the three games, including a 16-point, 16-rebound effort during a semifinal win over St. Mary’s-Berkeley.
McKenna Woliczko, Archbishop Mitty basketball: The senior returned to the court after a year spent recovering from a torn ACL and put up 19 points and 13 rebounds in 14 minutes as Mitty beat Clovis 82-44.
