Cher Tells Dax Shepard That His Wife Kristen Bell Deserves Better Than Him

Cher is letting Dax Shepard know that his wife Kristen Bell can do a lot better than him.

If you forgot, Cher, 79, and Kristen, 45, starred together in the 2010 musical movie Burlesque.

While Cher appeared on the Monday (January 5) episode of his Armchair Expert podcast, Dax, 51, brought up the fact that she doesn’t approve of him as a partner for Kristen.

While she didn’t have another person in mind for Kristen, Cher noted, “The truth is, I trust her. So you must have something that I don’t see.”

Cher first met Kristen on set of Burlesque when she and Dax were already engaged. They officially tied the knot in 2013 and share daughters Lincoln, 12, and Delta, 11.

“We got along so well, and we were very sympatico, and I respected her a lot,” Cher recalled. “I didn’t know who she was, but she was good.”

Dax then went on to plead his case to Cher, telling her, “I’ll tell you the thing that you should like about me. I’m not threatened by her shining. Love it. The shinier she gets, the better.”

Cher noted that her longtime boyfriend Alexander “AE” Edwards has a similar trait, saying, “Alexander is that way too. The more I shine, the more he has won.”

Kristen referred to it as, “Guys who polish you so you shine more.”

At the end of the conversation, Dax told Cher, “I adore you, and I understand nobody’s good enough for her.”

Kristen jumped in and said that Dax is “almost too good for me,” calling him a “slow burn.”

“You seem like a good dad,” Cher told Dax, to which Kristen noted that he is “the best dad there ever was.”

“I put on a good show when the guests are here,” Dax joked. “That was the first hug I’d given my daughter in two years. Just because you were here. I wanted to impress you.”

During a recent joint appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Dax and Kristen revealed their daughters’ hilarious reactions to watching one of their old movies.
