Indonesian pubcaster TVRI buys rights to 2026 World Cup
January 5 – TVRI has secured free-to-air rights in Indonesia for football’s biggest tournament, the FIFA 2026 World Cup, ensuring nationwide access to the expanded 104-match festival this summer.
Under the agreement, the Indonesian public service broadcaster will show every match live across TVRI Sport and TVRI Nasional either back-to-back or simultaneously.
TVRI president and director Iman Brotoseno described the process as a significant undertaking. “The process of securing the broadcast rights for the 2026 World Cup was certainly not easy and went through a long series of stages.
