Michael O'Brien's Super 25 high school basketball rankings for Dec. 28, 2025

0

The lack of movement in the Super 25 this late in December is unprecedented. There were a few hundred games over the past week, but very little changed in the rankings.

The top 11 teams all stayed the same. Five of them are at the Pontiac Holiday Tournament, so things may start to change this week.

Waukegan jumped six spots up to No. 13 after knocking off undefeated Hersey to win the Elgin Holiday Tournament. St. Laurence and Young both make modest gains after starting their holiday tournaments well.

Geneva drops out after losing to Naperville North at the Hinkle Holiday Classic. Oswego East drops all the way down to No. 23 after losing to Morgan Park in the quarterfinals at Hinsdale Central. The Wolves have a strong resume with wins against Neuqua Valley and and Waukegan. So instead of dropping them out I added Morgan Park. The Mustangs have started the season well, their only loss was a 10-point defeat at Simeon.
