Amazon's Prime Video Canceled 16 Shows in 2025

Amazon's Prime Video brought one of its most-watched shows in the streaming platform's history to and end this year: The Summer I Turned Pretty.

Prime Video made the controversial decision to roll out The Summer I Turned Pretty in weekly fashion with fans clamoring to know who Belly ended up with - something Amazon MGM Studio's head of content admitted was a clear strategy.

“I know they are so eager to see every episode,” he said at the time. "This has been a strategy that we’ve rolled out with our second seasons and beyond — whether that’s with ‘The Boys’ or ‘Reacher,’ even ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ Season 2 was weekly. And we see that the audience, even though they’re craving every episode, we’re able to engage them in a longer conversation. And it’s great for the service, because we have people coming back week after week."

While it wasn't canceled, The Summer I TurnedPretty is one of many shows not coming back in 2026 on Prime Video.

According to DirecTV Insider, Prime Video canceled 17 shows in 2025 - with a number of fan favorites like Wheel of Time meeting their end.
