Apple TV+ Announced the Cancellation of 3 Shows in 2025
Apple TV+ arrived late to the streaming game, but has consistently produced some of the highest-rated and most-watched shows like Severance and The Studio - which dominated awards shows.
Vince Gilligan’s latest show, Pluribus, debuted this year and already set the record as the platform’s most-watched show. While the streaming platform continues to churn out elite content, three shows came to an end in 2025.
The first show to come to an end was The Completely Made-Up Adventures Of Dick Turpin, which ended after Noel Fielding allegedly pulled out of filming for season 2.
'The Last Frontier' Ends After Just 1 Season
Earlier this month Apple TV+ pulled the plug on The Last Frontier just weeks after the first season came to a close.
The thriller series starred Jason Clarke as Frank Remnick, who is described as “the lone U.S. marshal in charge of the quiet, rugged barrens of Alaska. Remnick’s jurisdiction is turned upside down when a prison transport plane crashes in the remote wilderness, setting free dozens of violent inmates. Tasked with protecting the town he’s vowed to keep safe, he begins to suspect the crash wasn’t an accident, but the first step of a well-crafted plan with far-reaching and devastating implications.”
'Mythic Quest' Ends, Adds New Finale
Mythic Quest was one of the first shows to debut on the new streaming platform back in 2020 and immediately brought legitimacy. However, after a four-season run, the showrunners announced the series was coming to an end - but with a new finale.
“Endings are hard. But after four incredible seasons, ‘Mythic Quest’ is coming to a close,” executive producers Megan Ganz, David Hornsby, and Rob McElhenney said in a statement. “We’re so proud of the show and the world we got to build—and deeply grateful to every cast and crew member who poured their heart into it. To all our fans, thank you for playing with us. To our partners at Apple, thank you for believing in the vision from the very beginning. Because endings are hard, with Apple’s blessing we made one final update to our last episode—so we could say goodbye, instead of just game over.”
