Baba Vanga predictions: Baba Vanga, the famous 20th century blind prophet of Bulgaria, is believed to have ‘accurately’ predicted major world events that changed the course of history over the past few decades. While Vanga’s prophecies about major catastrophes and wars are usually the ones that hog media headlines, a little-known yet equally important prediction of hers has come to light which affects every man, woman and child on this planet.

Did Baba Vanga predict impact of mobile phones?

If media reports are to believed, Baba Vanga had reportedly prophesized that in the near future, people would become dependent on small devices for easing everyday tasks, and a time will come when these devices (which many believe to be today’s mobile devices like smartphones, etc), will alter human behavior, impacting relationships, diminishing the power of concentration, and causing a surge in mental health issues among humans, especially children and the elderly.

Baba Vanga had predicted that human dependence on this small electronic gadgets will increase over time, and cause them to distance themselves from real relationships, and negatively impact mental health of each and every individual globally.

Has Baba Vanga’s prediction come true?

While mobile devices like smartphones have undoubtedly made our lives easier in today’s modern world, but like any piece of technology, this one also a pretty large downside, as mobile phone addiction is a syndrome which is threatening to hit pandemic levels, especially among children and young teens.

As per data gathered by the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR), about 24 percent of children use mobile phones before going to bed. According to doctors, this disturbs sleep patterns in children, lowers concentration, and affects their studies.

Additionally, too much screentime has been linked to mental health issues like anxiety, depression, and attention disorders, as children rarely participate in physical sports or even go outside to meet friends.

Why mobile phone have become a ‘debilitating addiction’?

Health experts highlight that adults have also fallen prey to this debilitating addiction, especially short-form content like social media reels/shorts, which is designed to keep users hooked and engaged in endless scrolling. This has resulted in a surge in mental health issues like increased stress, loneliness, distance from real relationships, apart from physical problems like sore eyes, neck pain, and amnesia (lack of sleep).

A study published in the National Library of Medicine has found how spending excessive time on social media and the use of mobile phones, is directly linked associated with depression, anxiety, and other mental problems. The study found that unmanageable beauty standards, frequently checking notifications, and sleep disruptions are the primary causes for these issues.
