Arshdeep Singh playfully challenges Jasprit Bumrah to ‘Earn his spot’ in Instagram reels after entering…
New Delhi: Star India pacer Arshdeep Singh joked about how senior pacer Jasprit Bumrah can feature in his Instagram reels, after India’s win over South Africa in the opening T20I on Tuesday. Both Arshdeep and Bumrah picked up two wickets each, playing crucial roles in crushing South Africa out for 74 while chasing 176 in Cuttack.
Arshdeep recently grabbed attention during India’s ODI series triumph over South Africa when he posted a reel featuring star batter Virat Kohli. The star batter entered the series decider in Visakhapatnam after smashing back-to-back centuries against the Proteas. Although he missed out on a third straight ton, Kohli remained unbeaten on 65 off 45 deliveries as India emerged victorious.
Arshdeep Singh attempted to tease Kohli during 3rd T20I
Arshdeep attempted to tease Kohli for missing a possible third consecutive straight ODI century, but the joke didn’t land as expected.
Kohli playfully replied, saying, “Toss jeet gaye, nahi toh teri bhi pakki thi dew mein (Be thankful we won the toss or even you have been hit for a century in the dew).”
On Tuesday, Arshdeep jokingly said that Bumrah must step up, and take more wickets, to prove himself before he can appear in his Instagram reels. “Jassi bhai still needs to take some more wickets to feature on my Instagram. So, if he keeps working on that and keeps taking wickets, he might feature on my Instagram as well,” said Arshdeep after the match in Cuttack.
Arshdeep praised his on-field partnership with Jasprit Bumrah
Arshdeep, however, lauded his on-field partnership with Jasprit Bumrah, describing him as a “gentle senior” who is always polite and encouraging.
“My relationship with him is very good. He’s a gentle senior, never harsh on youngsters and always very polite. Being Punjabi as well, it’s easy for both of us to gel. Bowling with him makes things easier for me because batters usually look to attack my overs. Even bad balls can get me wickets because they know they won’t get easy runs at the other end. It benefits me, and I absolutely enjoy bowling alongside him,” Arshdeep Singh said on JioStar.
Bumrah joined Arshdeep on the list of 100-T20I wicket club after picking two-wickets in the series-opener.
