One of America’s Leading Whiskey Brands is Releasing a Cologne
If you ever wanted to smell like bourbon for Christmas, now is your chance.
Elijah Craig is offering a new cologne that captures the scent of its classic American spirit, named for the “father of bourbon," and it sounds a lot classier than simply partaking in too much on Christmas Eve so that it is coming out of your pores as presents are unwrapped.
Here is what you need to know about how you can get that bourbon smell in a much classier way this holiday season.
'Warm, smoky and sophisticated fragrance'
Maybe smelling like bourbon does not immediately sound like an appealing concept, but Elijah Craig Char No. 3 Cologne has promise upon breaking down the elements of the fragrance.
Elijah Craig calls it “a modern fragrance that celebrates one of bourbon's most defining traditions through an elevated, refined scent experience.”
And what goes into that scent?
How about “the warm, smoky and sophisticated essence of the charred oak barrels that shaped Elijah Craig’s signature depth?"
OK, that has some promise, along with actually sounding like a traditional cologne.
More specifically, EC says the fragrance weaves together hints of juniper berry, lavandin, and orange blossom with nutmeg, oak barrel, and birch wood. There is also vanilla and cocoa.
"Elijah Craig's pioneering approach to bourbon-making, especially the art of barrel charring, has always been about craftsmanship, depth, and character," Heaven Hill associate vice president Max Stefka said in a press release. “Those same qualities naturally lend themselves to a fragrance, one that captures the spirit of our legacy through a rich, layered scent experience that feels unmistakably Elijah Craig."

Elijah Craig Char No. 3 can be pre-ordered now $49.99 and will ship in time for the holidays.
The fragrance will also be available for purchase in limited quantities at Heaven Hill Bourbon Experience in Bardstown, Ky.
