Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 is a hit!
The Blumhouse movie kicked off its opening weekend bringing in $63 million, marking the best opening for a post-Thanksgiving weekend.
It brought in $46 million for a total haul of $109 million globally, THR reports.

The movie sees critics and audiences at odds, with a 12% Rotten score on Rotten Tomatoes, yet an 88% audience score. It also has a B CinemaScore.
This is also the second-best horror opening of the year so far, behind The Conjuring Last Rites, and the highest opening for a PG-13 horror, as well as the highest December horror opening ever at the domestic box office, breaking Scream 2‘s record, per THR.
Here’s a synopsis: “One year has passed since the supernatural nightmare at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. The stories about what transpired there have been twisted into a campy local legend, inspiring the town’s first ever Fazfest. Former security guard Mike (Josh Hutcherson) and police officer Vanessa (Elizabeth Lail) have kept the truth from Mike’s 11-year-old sister, Abby (Piper Rubio), concerning the fate of her animatronic friends.”
“But when Abby sneaks out to reconnect with Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy, it will set into motion a terrifying series of events, revealing dark secrets about the true origin of Freddy’s, and unleashing a long-forgotten horror hidden away for decades.”
The cast includes Theodus Crane as Jeremiah and Matthew Lillard as William Afton, as well as new stars Freddy Carter, Wayne Knight, Mckenna Grace and Skeet Ulrich.
