Limassol icy after hailstorm

A hailstorm in Limassol on Monday night covered streets and gardens with an icy layer in a matter of minutes.

In one instance, according to witnesses, a bolt of lightning hit a tree, causing a fire.

The meteorological department had issued a yellow weather warning on Monday ahead of the hailstorm, valid from midnight till 9am on Tuesday.
