New X Feature Exposes Where Users Are Based, Reveals Many MAGA Accounts Are From Other Countries

A new X feature is causing quite a commotion on the social media platform.

Elon Musk‘s latest change to the platform formerly known as Twitter now reveals where a user is based.

As a result, several MAGA profiles online have been revealed to be operating from outside of the United States.

To see where an account is based, you just need to click on the “Date Joined” tab, which opens up a new page displaying the country where that account is based.

Accounts called “The MAGA Beacon” and “MAGA Nation” have been revealed to be operating from South Asia and Eastern Europe, among other popular verified influencers in the MAGA movement on the website.

“The tool, rolled out globally this week, pulls from signup IP addresses, app store regions, and access history to show origins under the ‘About this account’ section. It has highlighted conservative influencers tied to Nigeria, India, Macedonia, and Europe, plus the Fox News account listing Germany despite U.S. ties and a 2007 join date. Explanations include overseas management, VPNs, or privacy practices, with reactions varying by political lines as it underscores the need to verify sources,” X notes in its news aggregator summary.
