New York Jets Cornerback Kris Boyd Involved in Shooting, Is In Critical Condition

Kris Boyd is in critical condition after being shot over the weekend.

The 29-year-old football player, who is currently signed to the New York Jets, was involved in a shooting following a dispute in the very early hours of Sunday morning (November 16), according to New York Post.

Kris was reportedly shot in the abdomen shortly after 2am outside Sei Less restaurant in New York City and was rushed to Bellevue Hospital.

The Post reports that Kris was in and out of consciousness before being rushed to the hospital, where he is in “critical but stable condition.”

A rep for the NY Jets shared, “We are aware of the situation involving Kris Boyd and will have no further comment at this time.”

According to CNN, Kris and his friends were outside the hotspot when two cars left a parking garage near the location and pulled over, interacting with this group. Just moments later, the gunman fired two shots and sped off in one of the vehicles.

The Jets did not play this weekend, and are not scheduled to play until next Sunday (November 23). They last played on Thursday (November 13), but Kris is currently on the injured reserve list after suffering a shoulder injury during pre-season practice.
