Greer Grammer Shares How She Reconnected With Dad Kelsey Grammer After Childhood Estrangement
Greer Grammer shared some insight into the relationship with her father Kelsey Grammer during a podcast earlier this month.
The 33-year-old Deadly Illusions star visited the Pretty Basic podcast on November 5 and talked about how her dad “left” when she was just 4 years old and they didn’t reconnect until over a decade later.

“My dad left when I was 4, and then I didn’t meet him again until I was 16. Technically, I saw him once when I was 11, and I ran. It was in a Blockbuster. I ran away,” Greer said.
The Frasier star met her mom Barrie Buckner in 1991 and they had Greer about a year later, but then they split up.
“But when I was 16, I ran into him at a Christmas tree lot,” she went on, “and he came up to me and said, ‘Are you Greer?’ And I said, ‘Yes, I am.’ And then he went, ‘I’m – .’ And I was like, ‘I know who you are. Duh.’”
During their reunion, he gave his daughter his phone number and they met for lunch a week later, slowly working to rekindle their relationship.
“It’s very interesting because I do have very specific memories of my dad from when I was young,” Greer said. “I remember going to Frasier at one point and wondering why the girls in the back kept redoing the scene.”
“Then I think my mom took me out of the audience because I was loud,” she joked.
Greer later joined the second season of the Frasier revival!
