Princess Beatrice’s Surprising New Royal Role Exposes King Charles III's 'Secret Deal' With Ex-Prince Andrew
Andrew Mountbatten Windsor finally stepped aside after his Jeffrey Epstein scandal became too much of a burden for the royal family, but his exit came after tough negotiations.
While it appears Sarah Ferguson is headed to Portugal to stay with Princess Eugenie, it seems that the former Duke of York was insistent upon protecting Princess Beatrice. The Daily Mail shared that a “secret deal” between the monarch and his younger brother was hashed out ahead of his banishment to Sandringham.
The warring brothers reportedly agreed that “no action [would be] taken by the King against Beatrice and Eugenie,” and they “would be allowed to accept new official royal roles.” Almost immediately after Andrew was stripped of his royal titles on Oct. 30, Beatrice was bestowed a new patronage on Nov. 6.
She was named the deputy patron of Outward Bound, along with Prince Edward, who will serve as royal patron for the outdoor adventure experience for children. It was formerly assigned to Prince Philip until his death in 2019.
“With the Duke of Edinburgh and Princess Beatrice working alongside us, we’re embarking on a new chapter. One where every young person has the chance to test their limits, build confidence, and discover that anything is possible. Their support reflects a shared belief that adventure changes lives,” Martin Davidson, Chief Executive of Outward Bound, said in a statement to People.

Beatrice also holds another crucial position at the palace that her father likely wanted her to retain: Counsellor of State. The role allows her to conduct constitutional duties if King Charles is sick or overseas. She was granted this position in 2022.
Beatrice and Eugenic will retain the princess titles and remain in the line of succession to the throne. Beatrice is ninth in line, and Eugenie is 12th. Charles is fond of his nieces and is empathetic to what they are going through with their parents.
“It is, perhaps, one of the few things that His Majesty and Andrew agree on,” a palace source told the U.K. outlet. “They both love Beatrice and Eugenie and want the best for them. They also agree that the princesses can play an important, helpful role in public life.”
Just keep Andrew out of the equation!
