The $29 debate: CUNY projects billion-dollar gains with higher minimum wage

Raising the minimum wage for human services workers in New York to $29 per hour could generate almost $1 billion in tax revenue and $23 billion in economic activity while lifting about 100,000 out of poverty, according to a CUNY study.
