Critics Mock 'Panicked' Trump's Online Freakout After Democrats Trounce Republicans
Critics have mocked President Donald Trump for a series of messages he fired off as polls closed and it became clear that Democrats were sweeping nearly every major race, often by wider-than-expected margins.
First, he absolved himself in a message quoting unnamed “pollsters,” while also seemingly throwing Republicans in Congress under the bus over the ongoing shutdown of the federal government.
He wrote on his Truth Social website:
Next, he switched gears and engaged in one of his favorite activities: bragging about TV ratings.
Then, he fired off a pair of messages demanding that Senate Republicans abolish the filibuster, making it easier for the party to pass legislation while they still control Congress.
He urged them to pass “voter reform,” which according to Trump means eliminating mail-in ballots and enacting tougher voter ID laws:
