Eric Dane's Cousin Ran the NYC Marathon to Support ALS Research

Eric Dane is celebrating his cousin, who ran the New York City Marathon over the weekend in his honor!

The 52-year-old actor was diagnosed with ALS last year and his cousin Bennett Vazquez decided to run the marathon to raise money for ALS research and support.

“I will be running to support my cousin Eric Dane, who was diagnosed this past fall. Witnessing his struggle has impacted our entire family. This run is an opportunity to transform my family’s struggle into positive action by joining an organization that shares our optimism in tackling this disease,” Bennett wrote on his fundraising page.

Eric went to New York to support Bennett at the finish line!

He shared a photo with Bennett, wearing his medal. Eric wrote, “Thanks to everyone who supported the kid. Final time 3:43.”

Eric was just cast in an NBC series as a character with ALS.
