Supercomputer predicts how likely Tottenham are to beat Copenhagen in Champions League clash
Tottenham Hotspur return to Champions League action on Tuesday, and Opta’s Supercomputer has now revealed how likely the Lilywhites are to get back to winning ways against Copenhagen.
Spurs started their Champions League campaign with a win at home to Villarreal, but two back-to-back draws away from home against Bodo/Glimt and Monaco have left them with plenty of work to do.
Tottenham are still on course to qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League, but they will have to win their home games to give themselves a decent chance.
Spurs’ form at home in the Premier League has been horrid, and the supporters will be desperately hoping to see the Lilywhites turn things around against beatable opposition on Tuesday.
Tottenham are massive favourites to beat Copenhagen
Among the eight fixtures that Spurs have in the league phase of the Champions League, the home clash against Copenhagen is arguably the easiest.
However, that brings with it plenty of pressure for the home side as Thomas Frank’s men will know nothing other than three points will do.
Opta’s algorithm has made Spurs massive favourites for the clash, giving the Lilywhites a 66.8 per cent chance of beating Copenhagen.
A draw is the second most likely result at 18.4 per cent, while the Danish side have only been given a 14.8 per cent chance of taking all three points from North London.
Anything but a convincing win will not be enough for Spurs
The pressure is now well and truly on Frank, who admitted that he was ‘hurt massively’ by Tottenham’s performance against Chelsea.
The Dane will want a response from his players on Tuesday, and it can be argued that it is the easiest fixture his side have had this season, apart from the Carabao Cup clash against Doncaster Rovers.
There are signs that Frank is starting to lose some Spurs players, with the 52-year-old desperately needing a win to reduce the pressure on him.
