Vasilievsky

0

Vasilievsky is a minimalist apartment located in Saint Petersburg, Russia, designed by Alexandra Levina. This 2025 project for a young frequently traveling client demonstrates how residential interiors can achieve hotel-like curation balancing beauty, order, and comfort in quiet equilibrium. The design addresses the client’s desire to feel at home with the same quality experience provided by well-curated hospitality environments, reflecting contemporary lifestyle patterns where professional mobility creates appreciation for consistent spatial quality across varied locations.

The interior draws on timeless classics through oak laid in French herringbone pattern with tall baseboards, Arabescato Corchia marble in bathrooms and windowsills, and soft vanilla-toned walls. These familiar eternal elements receive reimagining through dialogue with stainless steel surfaces, minimalist furniture, and calm sculptural décor, demonstrating how traditional materials can coexist with contemporary finishes when coordinated through consistent tonal restraint and proportional relationships.

The herringbone oak flooring pattern references classical European residential traditions while the tall baseboards create vertical emphasis enhancing ceiling height perception within typical Saint Petersburg apartment proportions. Arabescato Corchia marble selection for bathrooms and windowsills introduces subtle veining patterns adding visual interest to otherwise neutral palette while maintaining material continuity across different functional zones.
