Davies previous roles and how we play (15 replies)
I’ll start with, I may be miles off the truth but not intentionally.
Davies first major roles at Swansea and Liverpool were Opposition Analysis roles. He excelled apparently in that role and from interviews he’s said he still did that role at Reading and Spurs as well as coaching roles and has said he still analyses oppositions last 8-12 games last season whilst Head Coach here. His work rate is admirable or more likely off the scale.
What I’m wondering is that analysis of how to stop the opposition (usually by us dominating the ball, with the odd tweak to how we play) taking over his and the teams thoughts as opposed to us concentrating on hurting the opposition rather than stifling them?
We come alive at times at home when behind or chasing the win but that’s a rarity rather than the norm.
Is anyone analysing how we play often enough and are they brave enough to tell Davies that I’d fits the case?
Genuinely interested in what others think and if Davies has faults and criticism I’m more than hopeful he will evolve as a Head Coach to improve btw. But I do want to see evolution on how we play
