Will Nobody Wants This Get A Season 3 At Netflix? Here's Everything We Know
Nobody Wants This, one of Netflix’s biggest new shows of 2024, recently returned for its much-hyped second season.
Adam Brody and Kristen Bell’s rom-com proved to be a huge hit when it premiered last year, and while the follow-up may not have been met with quite the same reaction as the first run of episodes, it’s clearly still popular with Netflix users, and has been hovering around the top of the platform’s most-watched charts ever since the new season premiered.
One thing critics did praise about the run of episodes is how binge-able they were, which means that by now, many Nobody Wants This fans may have already devoured the latest chapter in Noah and Joanne’s love story.
The question is… what now? Well, here’s what we know right now about the future of the Emmy-nominated series…
Will there be a season 3 of Nobody Wants This on Netflix?
So far, Netflix has remained tight-lipped about whether there are more episodes of Nobody Wants This on the cards for the time being.
Still, given how much of a push they’ve given the latest episodes, it’s clear that the format is an important one to the streaming service – and as it’s still hugely popular with subscribers, we’d be stunned to hear that there wasn’t going to be a third season in the future.
Of course, when there is any news from Netflix, we’ll be sure to keep you posted here on HuffPost UK…
What have Kristen Bell and Adam Brody said about a potential Nobody Wants This season 3?
One piece of good news is that both of the stars of Nobody Wants This have said they’re keen to carry on the show.
In fact, Kristen even told Parade magazine that the show’s “writer’s room is working right now”, even though Netflix is yet to commission Nobody Wants This for another season.
“You never know if you’re gonna be able to shoot because that’s way above our pay grade,” she pointed out. “[Netflix decides] what shows are gonna be shot. But the writer’s room is writing it right now. That we know.”
Looking to the future, she also told USA Today: “Anyone who’s lived on Earth for more than a few years, understands that there are problems, issues, tension, friction around every corner, but there’s also laughter and joy.
“And that’s what we’re attempting to discover and uncover in this show, but focusing on the smaller moments of real life and the hyperrealism that the show is written with in mind.
“Personally, I see a lot of comedy coming out of Joanne attempting to study to take the Jewish SATs for conversion. I’d love to have Joanne have to memorise some facts and crack open some books. I think that would be comedically entertaining for me to play at least.”
Adam agreed: “I’d be pleased to put her through her paces there. And there’s so many relatable things and benchmarks that go into building a life together that they’ve yet to really embark on that we could and hopefully will get to.”
He continued: “There’s marriage, if they should want that, there’s children, if they should want that … which is not to say that you can’t eschew a lot of those and have a deep, adult, long-term relationship. Of course you can, and they could do that too.
“Either way, those are some sort of obvious things that come to mind. But in some ways, I’m more interested in the less obvious and the creativity of the writers’ room. ‘Surprise me’ is what I want.”
Both seasons of Nobody Wants This are now streaming on Netflix.
