Adam Brody as Noah and Kristen Bell as Joanne in season two of Nobody Wants This

Nobody Wants This salved everybody’s souls last year thanks to its wholesome romance, silly humour and excellent casting in Adam Brody and Kristen Bell as leads Noah and Joanne.

Like a much needed dose of on-screen vitamin D, season two of the show has just landed on Netflix featuring some new faces as well as the original line-up.

Here’s who’s entering the Nobody Wants This universe and where you might recognise them from...

Seth Rogen

Somehow in between sweeping the Emmys with his hit Apple TV+ comedy The Studio and starring in films Good Fortune and Animal Farm, Seth Rogen has also found the time this year to put in a shift for Nobody Wants This.

He joins the cast as Rabbi Neil, a more progressive religious leader who has a potential job lined up for Noah at his Temple.

The Canadian actor is now considered a Hollywood comedy staple, starting out in cult TV series Freaks And Geeks before going on to appear in a string of classic 2000s comedies like Knocked Up, Superbad, The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Pineapple Express and Zack And Miri Make a Porno.

Leighton Meester

Leighton Meester is one of the most-anticipated additions to season two, not least because she’s married to series lead Adam Brody in real life.

In a genius bit of casting fun, Leighton plays Joanne’s high school nemesis Abby, who has rebranded as a “mum-fluencer” on Instagram.

The US star is most famous for playing Blair Waldorf in the iconic teen drama series Gossip Girl opposite co-lead Blake Lively, but you might have also seen her in Single Parents, How I Met Your Father or Making History.

Meanwhile, she also has a guest role in actor and comedian Rachel Sennott’s upcoming HBO series I Love LA.

Over on the big screen, Leighton recently appeared in Netflix thriller The Weekend Away and has also starred in The Judge, Monte Carlo, and The Roommate.

Alex Karpovsky

Girls fans will recognise Alex Karpovsky from his role as Shoshanna and Marnie’s love interest – and all-round loveable grump – Ray Ploshansky in Lena Dunham’s TV series.

While in Nobody Wants This he plays the supremely confident Big Noah, who has his eye on the position of Head Rabbi, you might have also seen him in Homecoming, Curb Your Enthusiasm, or opposite Emmy Rossum in Angelyne.

Arian Moayed

Iranian-American actor Arian Moayed plays psychologist Dr Andy, a new love interest for Joanne’s sister Morgan.

This is not the first time Arian and Justine Lupe have acted together, though, with both stars appearing in massive TV hit Succession, in which Arian excellently played private equity creep and Kendall Roy’s bestie Stewy Hosseini.

Elsewhere, you might have seen Arian in movies like Spider-Man: No Way Home or in series like Inventing Anna, Love Life and Ms. Marvel.

Arian is also a big deal on stage, receiving Tony Award nominations for his roles in Bengal Tiger At The Baghdad Zoo and A Doll’s House.

Kate Berlant

Comedian and actor Kate Berlant is still best-known over in the US, but that doesn’t mean you won’t have seen her in things beside Nobody Wants This.

Kate has starred in big movies like Don’t Worry Darling, Sorry To Bother You and Dream Scenario, as well as Netflix sketch series The Characters and TV series Search Party, The Other Two and The Good Place.

A big name in stand-up, there’s also every chance you might have caught one of Kate’s comedy shows.

Miles Fowler

Miles Fowler in Bottoms

Miles Fowler is best known for appearing in critically acclaimed comedy film Bottoms along with Rachel Sennott, Ayo Edebiri and Ruby Cruz.

You might also have spotted him in Don’t Tell Mom The Babysitter’s Dead, the Netflix comedy series A Man On The Inside, The Resident or Winning Time: The Rise Of The Lakers Dynasty.

Both seasons of Nobody Wants This are now streaming on Netflix.
