Fabrizio Romano weighs in on Tottenham links to £87m forward and Dusan Vlahovic
Dusan Vlahovic and one other striker have been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham over recent weeks, and Fabrizio Romano has now revealed what his sources have told him about the speculation.
Readers of Spurs Web will be aware of the intensifying speculation that Tottenham want to add a number nine to their squad in January, and two names in particular have been heavily linked with a move to N17.
According to various sources, Spurs are eyeing a move for Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic, who will have just six months left on his contract in January.
It has also been widely claimed that Tottenham are big fans of Porto centre-forward Samu Aghehowa, who has been prolific since his move from Atletico to the Portuguese club in the summer of 2024.

In fact, it has been suggested that Fabio Paratici may be driving Tottenham’s interest in the pair, with the new Spurs sporting director reported to be a big fan of Aghehowa.
It has also been suggested that Paratici’s return to Tottenham makes them the favourites to land Vlahovic, given the Italian’s connections with the Bianconeri.
However, Fabrizio Romano has now revealed that his sources do not think there is anything concrete in these transfer rumours.
When asked about whether there is any truth in the speculation linking the Porto and the Juventus stars with a move to Spurs, the journalist simply told GiveMeSport: “Nothing in it as of today. Both will be names to follow in 2026 in general, so links are normal, but we’ll see many links.”
Spurs may not sign a striker in January
A new report by journalist Pete O’Rourke on Football Insider suggested recently that Tottenham are unlikely to sign a number nine in January.
O’Rourke explained that finding a centre-forward who would be the right fit may be challenging mid-season, which is why Frank may have to make do with the options he has until next summer.
One can argue that a wide-forward who can create chances is an even more pressing need for the Lilywhites in January.
