HVCC, SUNY Oneonta partner to ease student transfers
TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Hudson Valley Community College and SUNY Oneonta have launched a new partnership. Leaders said it is designed to boost the success of transfers.
With just one application at HVCC, students can secure a spot at SUNY Oneonta. Once they complete their associate degree, they'll transition directly into a bachelor's program either on campus or remotely.
SUNY Oneonta Pres. Dr. Alberto Cardelle said it's all about making things easier for students.
"I have met with many students who said this is exactly what they were looking for," he said. "We already have transfer students from Hudson Valley Community College, and they have told us this would have made it even easier for them. So this is really what this is about: making it easier for students to transfer and recognize their hard work they've already put in as community college students."
