Nepal and Oman successfully qualified for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026
Team Nepal and Oman have successfully qualified for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. They earned their respective spots through the Asia/East Asia-Pacific Qualifier held in Oman on Wednesday. The three places were available and two are filled by Oman and Nepal and ensure their participation in the upcoming World Cup.
Nepal and Oman confirmed their place in the T20 World Cup 2026. The contest will be held in India and Sri Lanka. However, after finishing in the top three of the points table. They secured qualification even before playing their Super Six match on Thursday. Now, only one spot is left for the remaining teams to grab.
Oman and Nepal are currently placed first and second in the standings, both remaining unbeaten in their three completed matches. The only thing separating them is their net run rate.
The Super Six stage has been full of excitement, with five out of the first six matches going down to the final over. Nepal managed to win two close matches, which helped them secure their spot in the T20 World Cup 2026.
Nepal entered the Super Six stage with two carry-over points and went on to win two thrilling final-ball matches against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Qatar. Similarly, Oman also brought two carry-over points into the Super Six and secured victories against Qatar and the UAE, keeping their unbeaten run intact.
The UAE are currently in third place after a win over Samoa, and they are just one crucial victory against Japan away from qualifying for the T20 World Cup 2026. However, Japan still have a chance if they win both of their remaining matches. Qatar and Samoa also remain in contention, but they must win their upcoming clash against each other, rely on other results, and improve their net run rate to stay in the race.
