Topeka car show raises money for K-9 unit

TOPEKA (KSNT)- A local car show raised money for our four-legged officers on Saturday.

With over 90 cars on display, the Cruisn' for a Cause Car Show set out to help protect K-9 officers. Money raised went towards bullet and stab-proof vests for the animals.

This protective gear can run as much as $2,300.

"It's just a wonderful event to raise funds for our local K-9s, and that's strictly what I want it for," Event organizer Cindy Leggitt said. "The local k-9s here in Topeka, what else can I say, I love my K-9's."

There were raffles, prizes, and trophies for winners of the show.
