Saelemaekers concern for AC Milan after Belgium injury
There are more injury concerns for AC Milan, as the Belgium national team sent Alexis Saelemaekers home with a muscular problem that requires further investigation.
The winger had been due to play in the 2026 World Cup qualifier against Wales on Monday, but has now pulled out of the squad completely.
A statement from the Red Devils only noted that a medical check showed he would not be ready for that game, so was being sent back to his club early.
Saelemaekers worry for AC Milan
According to initial reports, this is a muscular problem and they fear a lesion for the player, which could mean being out of action for a few weeks.
Following loan spells at Bologna and Roma, Saelemaekers returned to Milan this summer and is making a strong impact under new coach Max Allegri.
He has contributed one goal and two assists in eight games between Serie A and the Coppa Italia.
The attacking wide man has 19 senior caps for Belgium, where he found the net once and set up four for his teammates.
