Gabrielle Union Asks ‘Who’s Cutting Onions’ in This Tear-Jerking Video of Daughter Kaavia
Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade’s daughter Kaavia James is growing up so fast, and this new video proves it.
Earlier this week, Union shared a super-sweet compilation video on her Instagram. She shared the video with the caption reading, “time may fly but my love for you will never @kaaviajames ???? who’s cutting onions? ????”
In the touching video, we start with a series of clips with the caption reading, “how she thinks I see her…” showing Kaavia today as she runs, plays, and gets her hair done with her mom. However, it cuts to another series of clips, which Union titles: “how I will always see her…”
And then we see clips of her as an expressive baby, cuddling her mom, sleeping, and playing with her gorgeous curls.
Every parent feels this way, so it’s no wonder this video has been making fans shed a tear! And truly, where has the time gone?! Kaavia is growing up so fast!
For those that don’t know, the You Got Anything Stronger? author and Wade welcomed their daughter Kaavia, 5, via a surrogate back in Nov. 2018.
Union is also the stepmom to Wade’s kids Zaire, born in Feb 2002, and Zaya, born in May 2007. Along with that, Wade is the legal guardian of his nephew, Dahveon Morris, born in Sept 2001.
In a previous interview with SheKnows, the Bring It On star told us about how amazing it was to make Shady Baby, which was based on their daughter Kaavia.
“It’s been amazing. Inspired by our daughter, Kaavia, we wanted to create a children’s book that not only had a little Black girl as the main character but also gave the word ‘shady’ a more positive association, using it as her superpower, moral compass, and inner strength,” she said. “As a family, we also understand the platform that we have and the importance of doing right for our community. That’s why we get involved in various initiatives to help give back to our community, whether it’s LGBTQ+ rights, advocating for diversity and inclusion in the workplace, or our Don’t Skip public health campaign.”
