Manny Jacinto Reveals Actor Whose Voice He Studied for British Accent In 'Freakier Friday'

Manny Jacinto is opening up about his British accent in the upcoming Freakier Friday.

The 37-year-old actor, who was born in the Philippines and raised in Canada, plays Eric Davies in the upcoming sequel, a single father from overseas who is getting married to Lindsay Lohan‘s Anna.

During recent interviews on Good Morning America and GMA3, Manny dished on his accent in the movie and the actor he modeled it after.

On GMA, Manny opened up about Jude Law helping him perfect his British accent – he also had a dialect coach.

“Yeah, I mean, oh man. I started thinking about different British actors that can help me out, whether it be like Henry Cavill or Sam Claflin,” he said. “Jude was the guy, you know, so I listened to anything and everything. Probably watched The Holiday a ton.”

When asked if he had done a British accent before, Manny said that he had a dialect coach before and spent eight months filming another project in the UK. “So I kind of absorbed it through osmosis.”

On GMA3, Manny said he started dreaming about Jude “all the time because I just kept seeing him.”

He also shared why he and co-star/on-screen daughter Sophia Hammons are British in the movie.

“I think it was they just found the actors first and they were like, they need that kind of parent trap vibe with them being in the UK,” Manny dished. “They cast Sophia first and then cast me, and then luckily we were like father and daughter.”
