Teen dies when car slams into tree in Clark County
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- One teenager died and another was hurt when a car slammed into a tree just after midnight in Clark County.
Someone called 911 to report the crash near 28600 NE Reilly Road and noted the passenger was not responding inside the car, the Clark County Sheriff's Office said. Deputies tried emergency life-saving measures when they arrived, but the 18-year-old died at the scene.
The driver, 19, was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries.
Investigators have not released the names of those involved, nor have they determined what caused the crash. The initial indication is that the car was headed east on NE Reilly when it left the road and hit the tree.
