Girl Scouts gift outdoor furniture to Albany Ronald McDonald House
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Families staying at the Ronald McDonald House in Albany now have a new outdoor space to relax thanks to a generous donation. The Girl Scouts of Northeastern New York raised more than $1,500 worth of outdoor furniture and supplies through their cookie program.
Officials said the gift will provide comfort to families while their children receive medical care at nearby hospitals.
"For a very long time, what we had here in our outdoor space was wooden picnic tables, which is fine, it's great, but this new furniture really creates that same welcoming, warm environment that we have inside the house, outside where families can get fresh air and take a deep breath after a long day spent at the hospital," Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Capital Region CEO Kimmy Venter said.
Capital Region Girl Scout Troop 3872 sold more than 4,000 cookies to make the donation possible.
