Earlier in the day, Alice revealed he learned of Ozzy‘s death just before going on stage that week.
“I was on my way to the stage when I heard about [his death],” he told Planet Rock. “And I went, ‘Oh, that’s not right.’ He just did this. And I saw him. He was signing well. But when it finally hit, it was just one of those, ‘Yeah.’ Even though you know it’s coming. What a shock to the system.”
“At the end of the show, I just said, ‘Everybody, let’s say goodnight to Ozzy,’” Alice added. “And everybody just [chanted], ‘Ozzy, Ozzy.’ He was a very beloved character in rock.”
Ozzy sadly passed away last week, with his family sharing a statement on Tuesday (July 22).
So many stars have paid tribute to the late rocker.
