A 68-year-old man dies when part of a Family Dollar store's roof collapses in Kansas City
Authorities in Kansas City, Missouri, say that a 68-year-old man has died and a 50-year-old woman suffered serious injuries when part of the roof and front facade of a Family Dollar store collapsed. The Kansas City Fire Department said that the partial collapse occurred about 2:45 p.m. Sunday. According to local television news reports, two other people also were injured outside the building but were treated at the scene and refused further medical care. Fire Department Battalion Chief Mike Hopkins says the man who died may have been walking by the building at the time. The woman who was seriously injured remained hospitalized.
