Delays expected at JFK Airport due to thunderstorms: FAA
NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) – Delays are expected at John F. Kennedy International Airport Sunday afternoon due to thunderstorms, according to the FAA.
Delays are expected to start around 1:15 p.m. Flights will see an average delay of nearly 3 hours, according to the FAA.
New York City is expected to see showers and thunderstorms on Sunday with temperatures reaching the low 80s. There is a 60% chance of rain throughout the evening, primarily before 8 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.
All three New York area airports saw rain delays on Friday as well. On Sunday, Newark Liberty International Airport also had delays due to FAA staffing issues.
