Triangle take unbeaten run to Highlanders in survival push

TRIANGLE United may be stuck in the relegation zone, but their recent form tells a different story. Unbeaten in their last five matches where they have won twice and drew three games, the Lowveld side are showing real fight in their bid to survive the drop and they will be aiming to continue that resurgence when they visit Highlanders at Barbourfields Stadium on Thursday afternoon.
Presently 16th on the 18-team log, Triangle know a win could prove crucial, potentially lifting them out of the relegation zone and dragging Chicken Inn into the mire.
Their hosts, Highlanders, have struggled for consistency and are looking to bounce back from a recent defeat against Scottland. The Bulawayo giants sit mid-table and will be hoping to use home advantage to climb to eighth with a win.
The first-leg clash ended 1-1 at Gibbo Stadium, and a similarly tight affair is expected. Highlanders interim coach Try Ncube has warned his players not to take Triangle lightly.
“Yes, we can say maybe our opponents Triangle are struggling because of their position on the log, but they are actually fighting because they want to survive. They are a dangerous team to face,” Ncube said.
