Indian star pacer named in draft of Bengal’s team for upcoming Domestic season

India’s veteran pacer Mohammed Shami- who missed out a place in the national squad for the England tour, has now been named in Bengal’s list of 50 probable players for the upcoming domestic season, as per ESPNcricinfo. Shami might potentially be a part of the Easo zone in the season-opener Duleep Trophy- set to begin August 28.

Mohammed Shami has an experience of playing 64 Test matches, 108 One-Day Internationals and 25 T20 Internationals- and has not featured in the national side since the Champions Trophy, which ended in March earlier this year.

Mohammed Shami was the leader of India’s pace attack as the team lifted the Champions Trophy by beating New Zealand in the final. Shami came out with 9 wickets to his name in 5 matches.

Even though Mohammed Shami is among the top wicket-takers, he gave out a great amount of runs. Shami was one of India’s most expensive bowlers, as he gave out runs at an economy of 5.68. After the tournament ended, the veteran pacer linked up with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) for the 18th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
