Classic Rock Favorite Makes Huge Announcement

0

When it comes to the classic rock genre, it's always a huge reason to celebrate when an artist makes an announcement that has to do with either new music or touring. When these classic rock artists get up there in age, they often aren't as active, which makes sense, but that's why it's so great when they do get back out on the road or in the studio.

Now, a classic rock favorite has made a major announcement that should make many rockers happy.

This guy hails from one of the biggest rock bands in the world, too, which makes the news that much more exciting.

Paul McCartney is hitting the road this year. The ex-Beatle has announced a North American leg of his Got Back Tour, which will start Sept. 29 in Palm Desert, California. The tour will visit major markets such as Atlanta, Denver, Minneapolis, New Orleans, Montreal and Las Vegas before wrapping up with a Nov. 25 date in Chicago. A full roster of tour dates is available on his official website, and tickets will go on sale to the general public starting July 18, with a presale on July 15.

The tour will see McCartney playing mainly his solo music backed by his longtime band, including Paul "Wix" Wickens on keyboards, Brian Ray on bass and guitar, Rusty Anderson on guitar and Abe Laboriel Jr on percussion. No word yet on if Beatles drummer Ringo Starr will appear on any dates.

The tour dates are part of his ongoing Got Back Tour, which started in 2022. "The ambition is always to have a good time, and to play well for an appreciative audience," he said regarding the run back in 2024. "The surprise is how enthusiastic the audience members can be, because their enthusiasm reaches us on stage, encourages us to play better all the time."
