Many young students in India dream of studying at IITs, IIMs and NITs. But success always doesn’t mean that it has to be associated with big name of colleges or institutes. Sometimes, hard work, talent, and strong will can take you just as far. One such inspiring story is that of Srijan Agarwal, a young woman from Uttar Pradesh, who landed a job at Microsoft with a Rs. 50 lakh package and that is without going to IIT or IIM.

Srijan is from Ghantaghar area in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh. Her father works in a private job, and her mother is a homemaker. She completed her schooling up to Class 12 from Ramchandra Agarwal Girls Inter College.

After school, Srijan got admission to AITH (Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Technology for Handicapped) in Kanpur through the UP State Entrance Exam. Until Class 12, she studied in Hindi medium, which made her engineering days in English very challenging. In the beginning, she struggled a lot to understand her subjects, but instead of giving up, she worked extra hours and focused on improving her weaknesses and finally made it.

In the second year of her B.Tech, Srijan secured an internship at Microsoft. Later, in 2023, the tech giant offered her a full-time job with a salary package of Rs. 50 lakh per year.

Srijan is not only a bright student, but she is also the first engineer in her family.

Her journey proves that with dedication, anyone can achieve their dreams, no matter where they come from or what language they studied in.

Srijan’s story is a reminder to every young student that success doesn’t always need a fancy degree. Sometimes, all it takes is belief in yourself and the courage to keep going.
