'Iconic' Italian Restaurant Reopening 6 Months After Fire
One of the most popular Italian restaurants in Hoboken, New Jersey is reopening soon after a brief hiatus.
Otto Strada, which has been part of the Hoboken dining scene for more than a decade, has been shut down since January 21, when a fire swept through the building located at 743 Park Avenue.
While no one was injured and the blaze was quickly extinguished, it resulted in Otto Strada having to close for an undetermined period of time.
“Otto Strada is closed due to a recent fire," the restaurant said on social media on Jan. 22. "Thank you to our staff for getting everyone outside quickly with no injuries. Thank you to the HFD and JCFD for quickly stopping the fire. We look forward to seeing everyone again when we reopen!”
Since then, Otto Strada has teased its return, sharing in April that ownership was working "24/7 to get closer" to restarting business.
Now, the most recent report from The Hoboken Girl says the eatery will reopen sometime in July.
"The Otto Strada team shared with The Hoboken Girl on Thursday, June 19th that the restaurant is on course to reopen in July," writes Jennifer Tripucka.
We’ll share more updates as they come to light, and make sure to support Kikilu Gelato, Otto Strada’s sister gelateria in the interim."
A BYOB establishment, Otto Strada is known for its extensive selection of pizzas and pasta dishes, as well as its brunch menu.
