Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez are getting married this week in Venice, Italy. Only about 200 guests are invited to the wedding. Lauren recently shared her feelings, saying, “I never thought I’d be getting married or writing a book at 54. I’m turning 55 soon, and it feels like life is just starting. When I was 20, I used to think life ended at 50. But let me tell you, it doesn’t. It’s only the beginning.”
The city of Venice confirmed the guest list. They said in a statement, “There are many rumors going around about Jeff Bezos’ wedding, but they’re not true. Only 200 people are invited, and Venice can easily host the event without any trouble for locals or tourists.”
Some well-known names like Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner, and Diane von Fürstenberg have already started arriving in Venice for the big day. More guests from across the globe are expected to join soon.
Only Indian guest at Jeff Bezos’ wedding
But only one guest from India has been invited to the wedding – and that is Natasha Poonawalla. Natasha is a well-known businesswoman, fashion icon, and the wife of Adar Poonawalla, the CEO of Serum Institute of India, one of the largest vaccine makers in the world.
Natasha was also among the select few who joined Lauren Sanchez, in Paris to celebrate her lavish bachelorette party.
The exclusive all-girls celebration included 13 high-profile guests besides Poonawalla, such as Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner, Katy Perry and Eva Longoria, according to a report by PEOPLE. Photos from the party made went viral, with Poonawalla standing out in the star-studded group.
Natasha, known for her stylish looks and international connections, often attends global events, including the Met Gala. Her invitation to Bezos’s wedding shows her place in elite social circles around the world.
Wedding venue shifted
Jeff and Lauren have changed the location of their wedding in Venice after facing strong criticism from local people and protest groups. The couple had planned to hold their main wedding party at the famous Scuola Grande della Misericordia in the heart of Venice. But now, they have moved the event to a quieter place called Tese 91, which is part of an old shipyard area on the edge of the city.
Officials said the change was made for “security reasons.” However, many protestors and local activists are calling it a win, as they had raised concerns about the disruption the wedding could cause in the busy city center.
